If you’ve browsed my website, it comes as no surprise that I am drawn to things that have some mileage on them. At my request, my husband regularly takes detours that I like to call scenic routes and he refers to as danger zones. If it looks abandoned, I’m going in; if from afar it looks a little sketchy I want to get closer; if it looks like the tail wind from my passing by might blow it over I want to turn back and see if it’s still there. My husband is an awesome guy - 30 years together, I should know. He is my extra set of eyes, the muscle when I can’t quite heft my backpack, he’s often my chauffeur and he’s my scout - while I’m preoccupied taking photographs, he’s not only looking out for my safety but he is quietly inventorying the other opportunities I might otherwise miss because I’m so focused. Many of the photographs on my website would not be without him, but on this page I am especially grateful to him for his patience and his support.
